The ABCs of Fitness is a "modular workout"
so you can customize the length of your training session.
There are 3 workout videos.
Each video is 10 minutes long.
(Sorry we're going to make you do math..)
a 10-minute workout = 1 workout video
a 30-minute workout = all 3 videos in a row.
a 60 minute workout = all 3, then all 3 again
A short animated video that links each exercise to an image, then tells a story. This allows you to memorize the sequence of exercises.
Magic!
lol jk, it's just the power of your memory, applied to fitness.
Yes! The workout is very modifiable.
We like to say it's "rearrangeable" Each video has it's own level of difficulty. By combining them, you can modify your workout to add or subtract the intensity.
you can do only A for Active Flexibility (about the fitness level of a basic yoga class with some ab exercises)
B for Bodyweight is difficult for some but you can go as slow as you'd like, modifications are suggested, and Leah encourages everyone to move at their own pace. C is for cardio is faster paced, will make anyone sweat, but like all of the videos, your pace is up to you.
Yes! The workout is a great warmup or conditioning sequence for training. We do not include splits in our workouts (see more regarding contortion below)
BUT- continued use of the ABCs will increase your length and control with active stretches for leg, back and shoulders. Your splits will definitely improve with continued use of this stretching sequence and the lunge sequence. Also, B is for bodyweight and C is for cardio is fantastic conditioning to help get through a long number.
Cool!
This video is not a contortion tutorial video!
We do not include splits or backbends in our workouts because we believe that every body is different and intermediate to advanced flexibility (including contortion) should be trained in person, with a qualified coach.
I suggest finding a contortion coach or private instruction from a qualified professional.
Message me on Instagram at @abcsoffitness and I may be able to point you in the right direction based on your location.
In the mean time, check out one of my coaches, Catie Brier. She offers higher level instruction, one- on -one instruction through skype, and private lessons. She's great <3
